Aromatherapy and What it can do for You

What is an essential oil?
An essential oil is a volatile oil, usually having the characteristic odor or flavor of the plant from which it is obtained, used to make perfumes and flavorings.

In massage, essential oils are used in your massage oils to encourage a specific reaction from your mind and your muscles, interconnected as they are. For example, the essential oil of lavender in your massage oil will generally cause your muscles and your mind to relax. It is also a cell regenerative, and will aid with sunburns, cuts, bruises, scrapes, and other small to mid-sized skin abrasions. Each person reacts differently so these are not garunteed reactions; however studies show these as common reactions in most cases.

In your Swedish massage I offer Aromatherapy as an additional specialty with the massage - no extra charge. Below is a list of the oils that I offer and what they help your body to do. If you choose certain oils - called Rare and Precious Oils - there will be an additional $5 added to your fee; this will be detailed for you before your massage so that you have the choice whether to use that oil or another. The reason for this is that all oils are expensive - some more than others - and the use of each drop of these Rare oils is much more costly. For example a half-ounce of Lavender may cost $2.00 a bottle, whereas a half-ounce of Sandalwood can cost upwards of $75.00, and a 1/6th ounce of Neroli is over $35.00. For these expensive oils you will be charged by the drop, not by the price of the whole container.

DISCLAIMER: All MSDS & C of A information, all GC Analysis, and all Organic Information comes directly from the group I order my oils through. I provide it here for those who wish more details about the oils and know what they are looking at. If you have questions about these, please contact the company who gathers and makes the oils. http://www.NewDirectionsAromatics.com/
